An eighty five seconds video
of actress Moesha Boduong with American ace journalist Christiane Amanpour
generated an outrage in the country because the actress made some statements
which didn’t go down well with some Ghanaians.
The video, which was an excerpt from an episode of Amanpour’s Sex and Love Around the World series was widely criticized by several members of the Ghanaian society including the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection suggested that women in the country were incapable of making ends meet without soliciting for favours from successful men.
“Ghana our economy is such that you just need someone to take care of you because you can’t make enough money as a woman here,” Moesha said.
“When you want to get an apartment, in Ghana you pay two years in advance and I just started working, where will I get the money,” she explained
Speaking on the ‘Uncut’ show when Zionfelix a blogger and Christabel, one of the casts of the Yolo series paid her a surprise visit with a cake on her 29th birth day.
During an interaction with
the blogger Zionfelix, Moesha emphasized that, what she said during her interaction
with Amanpour was her truth and she never regret saying it.
When asked by Zionfelix why she decided to apologize later to Ghanaians even though she feels the comments on the show are not wrong in any way, she stated that, she did so because of the feeling that her pronouncements were too general adding that, that wasn’t what she meant to say.
‘’I apologised because people said I generalised it, they took offends .it was my truth but maybe am sorry for generalising it ‘’ she said.
She however disputed the fact that she never said she has been sleeping with married men but rather she said she was dating a married man.
