The coalition of civil society groups in Ghana have backed the call for the investigations into the activities of a militia group linked to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to joynews documentary, DE-EYE group was found to have been operating from the Christianborg castle Accra.
It however 6 days the documentary was broadcasted and premiered after, there have been calls from the parliament, security experts as well as some ordinary Ghanaians for thorough investigations into the activities of this group.
Speaking at a news conference, chairman of the Civic Forum Initiative, Major-General Carl Nii Coleman has indicated that, investigating the matter will also help in the effort to disband party militias and therefore supports any calls for investigations into the groups activities .
‘’if the media has brought to our attention, that there are ills in the society, that requires investigation.it must be investigated ,we fully support any investigation or any call for investigation from whatever quota ‘’,he said .
As part of their responsibility as a civil society organisation ,they deem it fit to meet to discuss the situation ,he added.
